Greensboro, High Point and Guilford County leaders are in informal talks about creating a united economic development partnership.
Guilford County Commission chairman Hank Henning says this proposed Guilford County Economic Development Alliance would coordinate to promote the county and its cities as a business destination.
"When companies want to come into our area, they don't care whether the lines are High Point, Greensboro or Guilford County," Henning said. "They look at the whole Piedmont Triad area. I think when all municipalities can work off the same sheet of music, we're going to get more done."
The currently has no connection to or the government. The is its own independent organization.
Henning says businesses looking to relocate to the Triad do not really care about any one municipal department.
"The less convoluted we can make it, the more simple and streamlined we can make it for these folks. It just makes our area seem more attractive because it will come across as an easier place to do business in," he said.
Henning says he expects the County Commission and City Council will begin formal talks in the coming months.
