National Guard helicopter crews are playing a key role in the military's response to Helene, especially for communities that remain inaccessible by roads.

"The WBTV family is grieving a terrible loss," the station wrote in a statement. WBTV's Sky3 news helicopter crashed mid-day Tuesday. Meteorologist Jason Myers and pilot Chip Tayag died in the event.
