Atlanta is considered the Black Gay Mecca of the United States.
But when filmmaker moved there, she wanted to document the stories of a much smaller subset of that community: black, lesbian women who also identify as Muslim. She began her initial search on online forums and Facebook, and she eventually brought together five women who sought to establish community for black, lesbian Muslims where there was none. Her film tells that story and will be featured at the this weekend.
