LISTEN: The Lone Bellow

The Lone Bellow is coming through North Carolina and stopped by the app Studios.

is a band made of up Southerners living in Brooklyn. 

They play what they once called “honky tonk,” but now refer to as Brooklyn country music. And, their self-titled 2013 album was a hit both with the audiences and many in .

The album featured soulful layered harmonies, and several songs that were originally written by front man Zach Williams as journal entries during a difficult period of his life. The entries eventually manifested into songs and now they're coming out with a whole new album - . 

The Lone Bellow dropped by app before a show at the and played the title track to the new album live in studio. Listen:

Hady Mawajdeh is a native Texan, born and raised in San Antonio. He listened to Fresh Air growing up and fell in love with public radio. He earned his B.A. in Mass Communication at Texas State University and specialized in electronic media. He worked at NPR affiliate stations KUT and KUTX in Austin, Texas as an intern, producer, social media coordinator, and a late-night deejay.
