Geneva Bowers grew up watching anim茅 television shows like 鈥淪ailor Moon鈥� into the wee hours of the morning. The interest bled into another of her hobbies, drawing, and she began creating her own cartoon characters. As she honed her drawing skills, she noticed several patterns: Her characters were always thin, and they were always white.
She now uses as a platform to increase the representation of body types and people of color, particularly in science fiction and fantasy spheres. Host Anita Rao talks with Bowers about her web comic, 鈥�,鈥� and how she uses art to overcome her own anxiety during stressful times.
