N.C. State University is dedicating a new veterinary hospital today. The will be one of the nation's largest veterinary hospitals. The new facilities include a Canine Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, a linear accelerator for cancer radiation treatment, and new ultrasound stations.
Associate Dean Mike Davidson says this expansion will improve an already extensive hospital.
Mike Davidson: "Of course, most colleges of Veterinary Medicine in the United States have medical complexes or teaching hospitals associated with them. There are 25 colleges in the United States-none of them really have this level of capability and this level of sophistication."
U.S. ¹ÏÉñapp and World Report ranks N.C. State third nationally in Veterinary Medicine. The medical center treats 20-thousand pets each year.
