The House select committee investigating the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol is holding the third in a series of what's expected to be six public hearings. The committee has interviewed hundreds of witnesses and collected tens of thousands of pages of documents as part of its investigation into the deadly attack.
The House select committee will hold its next hearing at 1 p.m. EST on Thursday, focusing on how former President Donald Trump pressured then-Vice President Mike Pence not to count lawful electoral votes.
In a video previewing the hearing, Rep. Liz Cheney, the top GOP panel member, said Thursday's hearing would present Trump's "relentless effort" to stop the votes from getting counted.
Expected to testify are Greg Jacob, an attorney for Pence, and conservative lawyer and former federal judge Michael Luttig.
