Officials in Chatham County are welcoming public input on a proposed site for a 9/11 memorial. The centerpiece will be a small part of the World Trade Center donated by the . Citizens can weigh in at the Board of Commissioners tonight in Pittsboro. Debra Henzey is the director of communications for Chatham County. She says one possible site is in the center of town.
Debra Henzey: "This is a piece of land that seemed to make some sense. Right now there's really not much, you know, currently on that property and it's right there next to the judicial center, so that was one site that the county is considering."
