UNC-Chapel Hill's board of trustees have approved terms of the deal to hire Bill Belichick as the Tar Heels' new football coach.

The UNC-Chapel Hill product becomes the second quarterback taken in the first round by New England since 2021 and will be its latest attempt to find a franchise quarterback following Tom Brady鈥檚 departure after the 2019 season.

The 21st-ranked Tar Heels are picked to finish third in the league. Getting near the top of new division-less league will require a step forward defensively.
